Silver Thorn Dragon Tamer, Luquier

One of the most talked about cards released in Set 7 Rampage of the Beastking Silver Thorn Dragon Tamer, Luquier, this unit has has tongs waggling ever since its preview in Japan now it is about to be relaxed in the English format and I wanted to discuss its impact it will have in the format to date, this card infuses the main mechanics of Pale Moon calling units from soul being able to call up to 4 units ( a grade 0, grade 1, grade 2 and a grade 3) in one foul swoop, with the additional of stacking up attack making her a hard hitter and all this is a from a getting +3000 power bonus each time a unit is called from soul until the end of turn, giving her a grand total of 2200 power with the activation of her Limit Brake but it does come with a hefty cost of Counter Blast 3. Hear is the exact wording for her card text.

[ACT](V): Limit Break 4 (This ability is active if u have four or more damage): [Counter Blast (3)] Choose up to one grade 0, grade 1, grade 2, and grade 3 from your soul, and call them to separate Rear-Guard Circle.

[AUTO](V): When one of your is placed on Rear-Guard Circle from your soul, this unit gets Power + 3000 until end of turn.

Cards
Luquier having the power to call units from soul requires a fair bit of Soul Charge as to use her effect at full capacity twice you need to have at least 8 in soul so for the deck to function I suggest using cards such as Big League Bear, Girl Who Crossed the Gap, Skull Juggler, Purple Trapezist and Nitro Magician, there are other cards that also Soul Charge like Accurate Mia, Starting Presenter, Elephant Juggler and Hungry Clown, unlike the others mentioned before I don't personally think these cards work as well as the others as that have a specific cost to use there Soul Charging ability which more then less hinders Luquier, there is one card I have not mentioned which is Dancing Princess of the Nights Sky this card has benefits letting you Soul Charge specific units, and if your running Crimson and Turquoise Beast Tamers allowing you to get one Crimson Tamer in soul allowing you to kick start that engine and having an 11k attacker and a 9k booster to push their more damage putting more pressure on your opponent, but the down side to using Dancing Princess of the Nights Sky is that all this comes at the cost of Counter Blast 1 which in a deck that has such a hefty Counter Blast to activate its Limit Break is this really worth it, at the end of the day this is all down to personal preference. Dusk Magician, Robert makes a fantastic secondary vanguard to Luquier as it giver her another form of soul charge, so that when you eventually play Luquier you have a larger soul pool to choose from when calling rear guards and can also solve the grade 3 problem which I will talk about later I'm the blog, another thing Robert brings is his Mega Blast I'll say you will probably never use it but its an option to consider especially as it can be used while its your rear guard to.
Another card to consider is Pee Ka Boo this unit with its unique ability to keep popping in and out of soul can make Luquier 13k during your turn, with a 8k booster makes her push out for 21k making her hit a milestone damage point to hit 11k vanguards, so long as you have got useless soul to burn away.

Pros
the biggest advantage to running a Luquier based build is the face that you can call a full board of units without burning through your hand, allowing for more flexibility and better game play and guarding becomes much more consistent even though she is only a base 10k vanguard, another good thing is the flexibility with grade 0 units as Pale Moon has 2 trigger units what help with this one being Poison Juggler, if you brought out of soul to the rear guard circle using Luquier's effect it can then be put back into soul using its own effect to give a unit +3000 power, another that can be very beneficial is Sky High Walker same as Poison Juggler it has an offer witch Soul Charges it's self bit instead unflips a flipped damage, making Luquier able to hit off her effect multiple times during one game, there is a disadvantage to this card that I will get to in the other section of this blog, as if mentioned in a previous part of this blog Luquier herself is a bit hitter once you have used her effect she can hit with an impressive 22k alone, if combined with Purple Trapezist if you happen to bring out a weak grade 0 with no effect u can send it back in with Trapezist's effect, and bring out another unit this will not only improve your field it also means that Luquier becomes a 25k pusher for the turn.

Cons
As with all going things there is a bad side, the main bad side to all this is that u cannot control what you Soul Charge so half the time you could be getting rid of triggers or even not soul charging the right grades you need, which will be in most instances be a grade 3, in my experience anyway there has been many a time if had to ride a Luquier over a Luquier just to bring out a grade 3 to the board but, that's not the optimal grade 3 u want you would rather bring out a Midnight Invader or a Dark king of the Pale Moon to give you a 20 to 21k hitter as a rear guard. Another bad thing is that once you have used her effect to capacity and cannot bring anymore units from soul be it that you have no soul left or no Conterblasts, she will be a 10 k vanguard this might not seem a bad thing and its not but as there is not a reliable 10k booster then she wont be hitting out for more then 19k making her hit just under that damage milestone. The last point I'm going to bring up witch I've kinda touched on is her trigger line up' for Luquier being a high attacking build you need to run Draw, Critical and Heal triggers some of u may know what I'm about to say but I am going to say but I'm gonna say it anyway, one of the most useful cards in Luquier's arsenal is Sky high Walker as it makes her more user friendly with cards like Girl Who Crossed the Gap and Dancing Princess of the Nights Sky, but Sky High Walker is a Stand Trigger and a lot of you might be thinking whats the big deal but trust me Luquier works a hell of a lot better with Draw Triggers the she does Stand Triggers tries me if tried both ways.

In conclusion personally I've been play testing with her for a while now and I think she's is a fantastic card despite her disadvantages her plusses out way them making her an excellent card to use as your main vanguard choice, the one thing I will say to people wanting to use cards like Nightmare Doll Alice, Mirror Demon and Midnight Bunny I would advise against this, Luquier is already a heavy Counter Blasting unit putting units that are Counterblast heavy them selves in will kill the deck completely, if you wanna run an Alice deck then use Sword Magician, Sara as your main vanguard and then you have access to Stand Triggers as well making them more useful to pressure your opponent.

Anyway I hope u liked this post comment, subscribe and share with others see ya later <(^_^)>
